Research of the department focuses on following fields:

OCCUPATIONAL PULMONOLOGY

  • Nanotechnologies and oxidative stress
  • Markers of oxidative stress in the exhaled breath condensate in subjects with pneumoconioses (silicosis, asbestosis, pleural hyalinoses)
  • Markers of inflammation in the exhaled breath condensate in allergic disorders
  • Use of induced sputum in allergic asthma and rhinitis
  • Early diagnostics and follow-up of occupational asthma
  • Early diagnostics and follow-up of occupational rhinitis

OCCUPATIONAL TOXICOLOGY

  • Antidotes for occupational intoxications
  • Consequences of the intoxication with 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin
  • Consequences of intoxication with lead, mercury, and thallium
  • Occupational neurotoxicity
  • Treatment of internal contamination with radionuclides

CLINICAL TOXICOLOGY
